Place a couple of passionate pizza hippies in a killer campus location and let them get creative… what do you get? A great pizza restaurant offering not only delicious baked pies but a wild décor dedicated to Austin history. The restroom ceiling is topped with a replica of the capitol and is back lit in every changing color, longhorns and other “spiritual” memorable are captured throughout, and of course, what is Austin history without Willie? Willie is riding “high” on a wave in his canoe, something you will not forget!
The space was two separate retail spaces we combined into one. Structurally the space required many upgrades to accommodate the weight of the mechanical equipment. Mechanically the space offer little for the needs for the new tenant and architecturally, the space offered little. Through demo we discovered some exiting qualities that had been covered up by the many previous tenants. We were able to patch and salvage the “broken” pattern tile floor as well as expose some of architectural features of the existing structure. The space is long and narrow so it’s divided into kitchen and dining and ends with a copper topped bar extending into the outdoor patio where it is surrounded by a masonry wall. This truly is a one-of-a-kind even in Austin.
